PORTAL 5 is excited to announce Australian Doubles, a three person exhibition playing with visual concepts of court and tennis related games.

The exhibition opens on April 18th and runs through May 24, featuring works by Bill Sullivan, Charles Johnstone, and Vicente Munoz — 3 artists who have played extensively with concepts of tennis and court related themes in their work.

The exhibition continues a visual dialogue that Johnstone and Sullivan began in their 2022 book COURT 1520 2020, and adds Munoz to the mix. That two volume book set was an extensive tour of their respective tennis and court related works in various media over the last decade. The exhibition similarly presents works by the 3 artists in a broad range of media - painting, photography, publications, sculpture and printmaking.
